Health and Safety Paramount for Monmouthshire County Council

Monmouthshire County Council chose ISS Hard Disk Recording and mobile CCTV camera system on its new fleet of Refuse and Recycling Vehicles. For the first time in Monmouthshire reversing radars have also been fitted, and ISS have provided ancillary products such as jet-washes to clean the camera lenses automatically which ensures good picture quality without risking the crew’s safety.

Glyn Edmunds, Business Unit Manager (Cleansing) for Monmouthshire County Council said: “The safety of our workforce and the public is of paramount importance to us. This technology will help us to comply with the very best in health and safety practice, and reduce the occurrence of accidents. We can also record any incidents, allowing us to properly investigate any insurance claims or complaints against the authority, with visible proof. Ultimately, we hope that this equipment will enhance and improve the service we provide.”
