Weymouth & Portland Borough Council announce that the ‘robustness of the ISS package’ was the reason for its success in being awarded the contract to supply vehicle safety equipment for its new fleet of Refuse Collection Vehicles.

ISS were chosen to supply the dvr hard-disk recording equipment, based on the quality and longevity of their products, and by offering the best long term package.

The eight new vehicles were procured by the council’s vehicle supply partner, Northampton-based SFS, as part of their ongoing fleet replacement programme.

David Bowyer, Waste & Depot Manager, Weymouth & Portland Borough Council said:
“We want to protect our staff and help them to work safely, to reduce the occurrence of accidents and incidents. This equipment enables us to maintain the highest standards of working practice and safeguard our crew, as well as save time and money in the case of insurance claims.”

Gavin Thoday, director of ISS said:
“We are really pleased that Weymouth & Portland and SFS have chosen to work with us. Our aim is to provide a quality of service and product that also offers the best value for our customers. We manage every aspect of the installation of our equipment to make sure that it is perfectly integrated with the design and operation of each refuse vehicle; and we provide proper protection for the technology so that it’s less prone to damage and built to last.”
